The field consists of 96 golfers from around the world who qualified at one of the over 30 events throughout our year-long events series. This event brings an eclectic mix of golfers of all abilities and attitudes.
A three day 54-hole flighted quota competition yields eight flight winners who advance to the championship round. The eight finalists then square off over a final 18 holes of golf for the title while everyone watches on.
The Shut
RACDG Major Championship
The final RACDG Major championship of the year returns north of the border, to Western Gailes and Dundonald Links.
The great Harry Vardon arrived at Western Gailes in June 1903 celebrating his fourth Open victory. In 1923 its attractions were being lauded by the then US Open Champion Gene Sarazen who played the course with three other outstanding professionals.
Dundonald links is located at the very heart of Ayrshire’s golf coast lies a modern masterpiece of a links golf course . Effortlessly combining heritage and tradition with contemporary surroundings and luxurious finishing touches, Dundonald Links is fast becoming one of the most sought-after links golf courses and resorts in Scotland.

Elizabeth II Trophy
GB v ROW Matchplay
Set in the glorious Dorset countryside, Broadstone is one of the finest examples of an unspoilt heathland golf course in the South of England, and deservedly sits in the Top 100 golf courses in the UK.
Within 250 acres of rolling terrain, the fairways run freely and separately through superb natural heathland with its swathes of heather, pine, gorse and rhododendrons, several holes offer magnificent views for miles around.

Calluna Cup
RACDG Major Championship
The second RACDG major championship of the year visits Notts Golf Club, or known by its more famous title, Hollinwell.
The Calluna Cup will as always be played over 36 holes stableford competion on a heathland golf course, as the name Calluna suggests.
Charlemagne Trophy
The continental European Flock take centre stage as The Charlemagne Trophy returns for its second year.
Sam I will be hosting this year’s instalment at Maastrichtsche & Royal Limburg GC for 36 holes stableford to become the Master of Continental Europe.
Royal Limburg Golf was founded in 1966 by a Limburg colony of golfing friends who were members of Sart-Tilman. An area of approximately 65 ha, partly in the nature reserve Tenhaagdoornheide, partly in the pine forests, was made available by the municipal council of Houthalen. The British golf architect Fred Hawtree was approached and in April 1968 9 holes were played for the first time. In 1971, 7 additional holes opened and 2 years later the 18-hole course was completed.
Whereas the website for the Maastrichtsche course was not in English and I didn’t know how to translate it, but it sure looks amazing.
Good luck to one and all.
RACDG Players
The RACDG Players tournament returns in 2023 with VC Jon B hosting 32 Flockers at Littlestone GC for breakfast and 18 holes of battle to win the RACDG’s version of the ‘5th Major’.
Littlestone has hosted golf since 1888, and more recently in 1924, the club contacted Alister MacKenzie, “a well-regarded golf course architect” and designer of Alwoodley Golf Club, who would later relocate to the US and design two masterpieces there, Augusta National & Cypress Point.
Dr MacKenzie’s ideas and suggestions were brought to fruition over the years since their proposal, creating the stunning course it is today.
Enville Experience
Kevin hosts a Flock meet at Enville GC. Founded in 1935, Enville is one of the finest examples of heathland golf in the UK.
36 holes of stableford competion over the two courses, the Highgate and Lodge, will see a Flocker become the pride of the Midlands……if only for a day.
Scottish Annex Club Championship
Captain Gary hosts the Scottish Annex Club Championship at Gullane GC, previous host venue for the ASI Scottish Open and Ladies Scottish Open.
Gullane offers a championship course in the scenic and challenging Course No.1. Equally challenging is Course No.2, and, of course, there's Course No.3, full of character and charm.
The Flock will be metaphorically duking it out over 36 holes stableford on Gullane 2 and 3 to claim the SACC title belt.
Chilterns Classic
A slightly more traditional and nostalgic golf day as Sam hosts the yearly Persimmon event at Dunstable Downs.
The Flock dust off their plus fours, tweed caps and cane clubs to play a course set two miles South West of Dunstable on Whipsnade Road, high on the crest of the Chiltern Hills nearly 800 feet above sea level. Dunstable Downs is famous as a beauty spot and view-point with a panorama taking in seven counties. The bracing air and the glorious downland turf, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, makes it an ideal spot for golf.
Sunningdale
The Flock return to one of their favourite destinations as Mark once again plays host at the stunning and world renowned Sunningdale GC for 36 holes stableford over their historic Old & New courses.
For many, the Old is quite simply the best inland course in the country, scarcely altered since Willie Park Jnr wove it in amongst undulating heather and pine more than a century ago, yet still a test to intrigue stranger and old friend alike. Despite the advent of metal heads and titanium shafts, it still demands care and attention to get round, while at the same time charming all who play it. Above all it creates that most important of golfing emotions – the desire to play another nine holes after tea.
Had it not been for the presence of the Old next door, the New would probably be rated the best of the Surrey and Berkshire heathland courses, if not the whole UK. It is mostly the work of the finest golf course architect last century, Harry Colt, who also just happened to be Sunningdale’s first club Secretary. The difference in the two courses is that whereas the Old flatters and charms, the New demands and examines to the point of undoing all who are not totally in control of themselves or their game.
King of the Castle
Jeff invites The Flock back to the stunning North East coast to play both Alnmouth & Alnmouth Village golf clubs for 27 hole competition to be crowned ‘King of the Castle’.
Alnmouth Golf Club, Foxton Hall overlooks the splendours of both Foxton and Alnmouth Bay on the Northumberland coastline in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the North East of England.
Alnmouth Village GC was established in 1869 making it the oldest 9 hole links in England. The course was designed by the famous Scottish golfer Mungo Park, winner of the 1874 Open Championship at Musselburgh. He was also the club's first professional/greenkeeper.
Borders Battle of the Big British Bastards
In one of the few team events for The Flock, The 3rd outing of Scotland vs England takes place at Bamburgh Castle, as the English look to wrestle the trophy away from their Scottish brethren, who currently hold the title.
Bamburgh Castle Golf Club is often quoted as one of the most scenic golf courses in Britain
and with views of Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, the Cheviots and of course Bamburgh Castle, the course is one of the best coastal experiences to be had in England.
Good luck to both teams, and may the fight be hard and fair.
Royal Norwich
Alfie invites The Flock to his home course for 18 holes stableford competition and two course lunch at Royal Norwich in Norfolk, featuring a stunning golf course set in a 400 year old parkland estate.
