The continental European Flock take centre stage as The Charlemagne Trophy returns for its second year.
Sam I will be hosting this year’s instalment at Maastrichtsche & Royal Limburg GC for 36 holes stableford to become the Master of Continental Europe.
Royal Limburg Golf was founded in 1966 by a Limburg colony of golfing friends who were members of Sart-Tilman. An area of approximately 65 ha, partly in the nature reserve Tenhaagdoornheide, partly in the pine forests, was made available by the municipal council of Houthalen. The British golf architect Fred Hawtree was approached and in April 1968 9 holes were played for the first time. In 1971, 7 additional holes opened and 2 years later the 18-hole course was completed.
Whereas the website for the Maastrichtsche course was not in English and I didn’t know how to translate it, but it sure looks amazing.
Good luck to one and all.
